We were in Nasugbu two weeks ago to attend a university event where our friend E was a guest of honor. We traveled almost 2 hours and by the time we arrived, we're very hungry. We had to eat before the ceremony started. Kainan was a sole choice because my friends went there a couple of times already for celebrations. They telling me that I'll definitely like the place made me very excited. So my camera was readily at hand. I started to click after I had looked appreciatively all over the place.
There are the signboards made of wood planks. The texts were painted on it.
I was clicking nonstop upon entering the dining hall when D told me to continue taking pictures later. I obliged upon seeing the diners inside. The tables were almost filled that day and I noticed a group of friends who I assumed where from another province. We're seated near the counter because we preferred a well-ventilated table as it was very hot. Aside from the fact that it's already summer, the place is just a hundred meters away from the sea.
Yum!
For lunch, we've got 2 orders of bilao sa dalampasigan which has baked tahong, bangus, litsong kawali, sauted shrimps and a mixture of onions, tomatoes and mango slices plus bagoong. We've had black gulaman and iced tea for our beverages. Rice was wrapped in dahon ng saging. The two bilao orders were just enough for a group of five. We're so full! I credited my good appetite with the beauty of the place and of course, the food itself.

After filling our stomachs, we hurried back to E's office to get ready. The ceremony took almost 3 hours but we still felt busog! Nonetheless, after the event was through, we got back to Kainan to have our merienda and to continue my picture-taking. After all, they promised me we'd be back because I was not able to take pictures as many as I can during our lunch.
Once we arrived, we took different turns clicking away while other posed for posterity purposes. After laughs in-between takes, we decided we've had enough and also, my camera's battery was slowly draining. We had halo-halo, which by the way I liked too. Not too sweet, the ingredients were cooked just right. A perfect way to re-charging our systems before heading back home.
Upon leaving and leading to the parking area, we noticed a pathway. And we're surprised to see a kapilya. Very, very beautifully made. Oh, honestly, I can't rightfully describe it. Let me put it this way, I thought of solemnity, simplicity and serenity rolled into one. I love every part of it!

It's something very wonderful. :) And Kainan sa Dalampasigan for me is not about food lang. It's about a somewhat clandestine garden and the perfect ambiance. And perhaps a wedding venue. OK, I digress. the place made me really happy and thankful I've had the opportunity to experience an extraordinary dining.
I promise myself, I'll go back. It doesn't matter how far it is, because it's definitely worth the long trip.
