Residencia de Riego & Resort

After a careful planning and almost finalizing everything of our beach trip which my youngest sis wants, we ended up at a resort which is only a few minutes away. It's because our elders didn't approve of our Laiya trip. We don't want to push through with the trip with that negative vibe so we settled for a pool day tour outing instead of a beach one.

Residencia de Riego & Resort is a new getaway place located in Alitagtag, Batangas. I must say that I liked its facilities and it's child-friendly. I actually had a favorite spot there. It's the lifeguard post. A very beach-y style.

I had my sis and her friends' photos taken at the spot and I so love the result. Especially since I'm using my younger sis' Sony DSC T90.

Another thing that caught my interest are the kubo villas. We were there for a day tour so we didn't avail of such. But I'm glad our cottage is near some of them so I had the liberty to take shots and have pictures taken with it as a background.

It has capiz window and a wooden door which I find charming. And the bench too. I opted to request for an ocular inside but almost all the villas were occupied so I brushed away the idea.

The resort management allows bringing of food without any corkage fees. But they have their own resto which by the way exudes Pinoy style. Actually, the facilities are made very Pinoy.

And don't you worry about the fees because they're affordable. For day tour package, entrance fee is P200 (adult) and P150 (children). Cottage is P1,500. If you opted for an overnight stay, you can avail of affordable rooms too depending on the no. of persons. And the chance to enjoy the pool lights and band entertainment.

I'll include this place to my list of nice places to go back to again. If you're interested to visit, below are some of the information you need to know:

How to get there:

(by commute)

1) ride the bus en route Calabarzon-Batangas City pier. There are terminals of different bus operators i. e. Ceres, JAM and ALPS in Cubao-ALI MALL, Kamias and Buendia-LRT. Turbina bus stop is also an alternative. Your drop off point is Diversion. From there, you'll take jeepney bound for Lemery. Just inform the driver your stop is Riego. From the highway, it's walking distance. But if you don't prefer walking, you have an option to alight at Muzon, Alitagtag (it's a junction after Riego) and ride a tricycle to the resort.

2) option to ride bus bound for Lemery. Alight at Muzon, Alitagtag. From there, take a jeepney either bound for Bauan or Batangas City or a tricycle. Again just tell the driver to drop you off at Riego.

  3. I love the concept, especially the kubo villa. I bet it's hard to maintain though.

  4. I was interested in knowing who designed the resort but never got the urge to ask the operations manager. Yes, it looks like there'll be a high maintenance needed.

  19. hi! do you know how to get there by car?

    1. hi camiyana! to go there by private car, take slex. After the slex toll plaza, go straight ahead passing thru calamba-sto tomas tollway. Note that at Calamba exit on the right, you will be seeing a signage To Batangas. Ignore this because you can simply take Calamba-Sto. tomas tollway which will lead you to Star tollway. Take Lipa exit. Turn left after the tollgate. Go straight ahead until you reach Banaybanay junction. This is roughly 4kms from the star toll lipa exit, & you will also see a signage that says To Lemery / To Cuenca. Go straight following the main road. You will pass through Banaybanay and Cuenca and finally Alitagtag. You will then pass through Pinagkrusan and Alitagtag town proper. From the town proper, follow the main road and you will then reach Muzon. That's roughly 3kms. Turn left at Muzon & head straight to Residencia De Riego.
